Robert Palmer - Addicted To Love b/w Remember To Remember (1986) - single

"Addicted to Love" is a song by English rock singer Robert Palmer released in 1986. It is the third song on Palmer's 1985 album Riptide and was released as its second single. The single version is a shorter edit of the full-length album version.
Originally intended to be a duet with Chaka Khan, the song was made without her because her record company at the time would not grant her a release to work on Palmer's label, Island Records. Chaka Khan is still credited for the vocal arrangements in the album liner notes.
Andy Taylor of Duran Duran (and a bandmate of Palmer's from The Power Station) provides lead guitar. The other guitar part on the song is played by Eddie Martinez and keyboards by Wally Badarou. The song is also notable for its opening drum solo by Tony Thompson, another Power Station alumnus.
Noddy Holder (the lead vocalist of English rock band Slade) stated in an interview that this song was the main track he wished he had written himself. "The one main song that I wish that I'd written and recorded is 'Addicted to Love' by Robert Palmer. To me, that's a perfect pop song. Everything about it really hits the nail on the head."
"Addicted to Love" became Palmer's signature song, thanks in part to a popular video featuring high fashion models.

Hugh Masekela - Don't Go Lose It Baby b/w Don't Go Lose It Baby (Dub) (1984) - single

Don’t Go Lose It Baby is featured on his album Techno Bush released by Jive Afrika records in 1984, and is a great example of the kind of sounds that emerged within a post-disco era.
This song was a hit within the underground dance scene in the US and Masekela even performed at the famed club Paradise Garage in the 80’s. (Paradise Garage was a NYC disco club that operated from 76-87 with resident DJ Larry Levan).
Masekela is known as a Jazz musician, multi-instrumentalist, singer and composer from South Africa, and he’s been releasing music for the last 60 years.
Summarizing the depth of his accomplishments and success is difficult to articulate in a few paragraphs so I’m not even going to try.
He is a trumpet master, a musical pioneer and he’s still going strong.

Angie - Peppermint Lump b/w Breakfast In Naples (1979) - single

In 1979 Townshend produced and performed guitar on the novelty single "Peppermint Lump" by Angie on Stiff Records, featuring 11-year-old Angela Porter on lead vocals.

One of the rarest Stiff singles,it was produced by Pete Townshend who also played on it,for child star Angie Porter who had been seen in "Rod Hull & Emu" and one of the Wombles films.

Song was written by an Eel Pie staff writer,James Asher, though no details ever emerged of other songs and he was more noted for making library albums.
Pete's guitar, appropriate sound effects, and Angie's untrained voice all combine to make it a welcome break from sleek mass-produced pulp.  It's unpretentious and very English!

The band played on the B side as "Angie's Orchestra" and included a couple of members of Pete's brother Simon's "On The Air",who later formed half of Big Country.
