Golden Earring - Quiet Eyes b/w Gimme A Break (1986)

"Quiet Eyes" is de eerste single van het album The Hole en haalt in het voorjaar van 1986 de Top 10. Rinus Gerritsen schrijft in 2002 over de videoclip van 'Quiet Eyes': "Fotograaf Anton Corbijn maakte foto's van ons voor de cover van het album The Hole. 

Geproduceerd door Shell Schellekens. Naar de op dat moment heersende mode wordt gezocht naar een radiovriendelijk arenarockgeluid à la het Amerikaanse Foreigner en het Britse Whitesnake. Het resultaat is een logge, bombastische productie.

De single "Quiet Eyes" bereikte nummer 9 in de Top 40. Anton Corbijn maakte voor deze single een videoclip. Deze is in dezelfde zwart-witstijl als de door hem gemaakte foto's op de binnenhoes. Quiet Eyes bereikte de 31e positie in de Billboard Mainstream Rock Tracks.

Tijdens deze sessie bemerkten we dat hij naast fotografie een nieuwe passie had ontwikkeld: het maken van muziekvideo's. De afspraken werden snel gemaakt. 

Tijdens drie boeiende dagen in het oude Amacitia theater te Den Haag (ook al zo'n zaal van historische optredens) werd de clip opgenomen. De gastrol van Dolf Brouwers als tv-cult figuur Sjef van Oekel staat me nog bij."

Catapult - Disco Njet Wodka Da b/w Didn't Sleep A Week Last Night (1977)

Catapult was een Nederlandse muziekgroep, die haar bekendheid voornamelijk verkreeg door een aantal singles in de jaren '70.

"Disco Njet Wodka Da" kwam in 1977 niet verder dan de nederlandse tipparade.

Dit nummer eindigt met de kreet "За ваше здоровье" (Za vashe zdorovye). Dat is Russisch voor "Op uw gezondheid".

In 1980 verscheen dit nummer op het album titelloze album van The Monotones. Op een kleine aanpassing in het arrangement na, betreft het dezelfde opname als die op de single van Catapult uit 1977.

Supertramp - Goodbye Stranger b/w Even In The Quietest Moments (1979)

"Goodbye Stranger" is a song by the English rock band Supertramp; it was written by Rick Davies. 

The song first appeared on their sixth studio album, Breakfast in America (1979). The lyrics present an "optimistic view from a drifter."

Billboard described "Goodbye Stranger" as "a fluid midtempo number highlighted by the band's near falsetto vocals, dominant keyboards and a strong melody line." Cash Box said it has "intriguing, well-paced vocals" from Rick Davies, and the "high backup singing" from Roger Hodgson and "blithe, spirited instrumentation." 

Record World said that the "keyboard/guitar & chorus hook provide a blithe fairytale effect."Ultimate Classic Rock critic Nick DeRiso rated it as Supertramp's fourth-best song, calling it a "snarky kiss-off from Davies" that "showcases the band's predilection for the Wurlitzer." 

Brett Milano of UDiscover Music rated Roger Hodgson's guitar solo at the end of the song as one of the 100 all-time greatest. Gary Graff of Billboard rated "Goodbye Stranger" as Supertramp's ninth best song, saying it's "one of the best executed trade-offs between Davies and Hodgson vocals" and has one of Supertramp's "hottest guitar solos."
